Charity Christian Church

Problem:
Charity Christian Church (CCC) needed a more efficient way to track donations. Each Sunday, the pastor manually recorded individual donations on paper. At the end of the year, he provided handwritten summaries upon request for tax purposes. However, there was no system in place to reconcile weekly, monthly, or yearly bank deposits. Additionally, the church lacked a method for recording and following up with visitors.

Solution:
After meeting with the pastor and his wife, we identified and prioritized key areas for improvement. First, a visitor information form was created to enable follow-up by designated church members. Next, a donation tracking sheet was developed to organize weekly giving. Further research revealed that most donation tracking software was cost-prohibitive for a small church. As a result, a custom database was built using Microsoft Excel with VBA macros to handle donation records and generate reports. This solution supported the church's administrative needs for four years until they transitioned to a new software product.
